    A clean system internally means it will perform efficiently. Oil heating equipment needs proper servicing yearly. Gas heating systems also require proper internal cleaning and the burner tubes need proper maintenance and adjusting every other year.

   Heating system safety, do we think about it ?   No not really., and that's prob ally because we rely on the technicians who repair and service our automatic heating appliances. Their training and there experience in the many different types and brands in todays homes and businesses reassure us of a safe and well performing system.

   You wouldn't ask a friend who is a car mechanic to fix a problem with your furnace, or the technician who repairs computers to solve a problem with your heating boiler, would you ? Common sense warns us of that dangerous practice.

   We are all aware of the multiple home fires and deaths that are attributed to that sort do-it-you-self- practice. When it comes to your plumbing, heating,electrical systems. Always be certain that you have a qualified technician do the work that is required. It Is The Right Answer In Heating System Safety.    

The above three pictures left to right. An old, rare down draft steel oil fired hot water boiler replaced by a New Peerles Oil hot water heating boiler. We used over the pumps and controls, as requested. Their fuel bills were cut in half. A dryer was venting directly into the room and lint was clogging the burners to water heater, old burner and filling the house with carbon monoxide. Dryer now also vented to the outside and children seem to be doing better. ( A good technician always knows what to look for to safe guard your family )

The above three pictures left to right.  A Peerless Steam Boiler we replaced in 1990, the relief valve started to leak so we put a new one on recently. A Peerless Hot Water Boiler we installed in 1993, the home owner put a new nozzle in it that was twice the size it was suppose to be, a new target wall / chamber and proper servicing was all it needed.  They were lucky.  A Comfortmaker central induced draft ( no chimney) warm air propane heating system we put in in 2005. We were there recently to add another floor diffuser outlet and to "check-out" the system. All was just fine.

The above three pictures left to right.  This elderly couples son put this in eight years ago. Poor installation and bad servicing caused a hole to burn through the fire wall and top collector. They called us after another technician was called and told them he could find nothing wrong. The couple were having flu like symptoms. We replaced it and installed a taco circulator relay and some re-piping and electrical repairs and proper control corrections. Their fuel bill went down over  $100.00 the first month. The mickey moused pipes to the hot water coil were corrected also. (not used now)

Three Pictures left to right. Another PEERLESS steam boiler replacement we did in 2002. Did you notice how we always put a new concrete pad underneath the replacement boilers that we do? A steel, fire tube boiler with a power gas burner this system was always breaking down, not heating the house, leaking water. Replaced with a PEERLESS boiler. We used a large expansion tank because the home uses cast iron radiators that make the heating method a "high mass" radiation system. All that expanding hot water mass needs extra room for expansion. The home owner told us the next year that the natural gas cost for heating this college dorm(s) son's home was reduced by about third. Below another PEERLESS BOILER installation we did in 2002. Two zones with Taco circulator relay, Tjurland Power venter, The well tank and electric water heater were placed next to the boiler, as owners request. This is only an occasional week end residence in the mountains. They would shut off the house water when they were not there and the heating system was filled with hydronic anti-freeze by us as part of the installation.

All oil or kerosene heating systems require proper yearly maintenance and internal cleanings to keep them running efficiently. Keeps them reliable also.

All gas heating systems should also be serviced yearly and safety checked list, filters changed and burners and combustion chambers checked. Motors lubricated etc..

Chimneys should be checked for proper liners, and de-graded conditions.

  Steam heating systems require a special method of proper servicing, cleaning, water treatment, and low water safe guard devices properly safety checked and serviced.

The money well spent on proper cleanings, servicing, maintenance will easily pay back and plus in fuel cost savings and expensive break down related issues.

The over all "Big Picture" of proper heating system servicing and maintenance and safety  goes beyond the heating unit it self.
