HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE OUR WELL PUMP AND CAN WE USE THE WATER RIGHT AFTER THE JOB IS FINISHED ?
Removing and replacing a submersible type well pump within its existing bore hole varies by the amount of complications (if any) and by the depth and the weight of the internal pipes and wiring and pump.
Well pumps that are only down a shallow distance. Those under a 100 foot level can usually be swapped out and flushed and sanitized in a couple hours.
Well pumps that are down a couple hundred feet and the use of a smaller machine to do the job is necessary may take 3 to 5 hours.
Well pumps that are down several hundred feet and need a pump derrick truck to remove and replace them could take several hours or even a full day or longer to do. The answer is not a standard average time frame but a matter if any complications or additional repairing or modifications are necessary.
A job properly done and flushed out and sanitized is important to do. It will always be a system you will use every day for many years to come.
The results of flushing out the well and post sanitizing the system usually require a rinse out settle out time. Usually a few hours is minimum. How ever wells that are naturally dirty from nature minerals in the earth may take a day or two to rinse clean and be clear as it was before you had the well pump replaced.
