Also the drain valve is up high enough to put a bucket under-neath if you need water, or to hook up a hose.

In some types of applications, a jet pump may be what is best for a smaller homes water needs. The mechanical "aeration" effect that a jet pump has on water can reduce some types of water quality issues.

WHATS UP WITH THIS ?

The well pump on the left is a 26 year old submersible "half-speed" pump. The pump on the right is a modern "full speed" pump.

  The old pump was only producing about 2 -1/2 g.p.m. (gallons per minute) at a best pressure of 44 p.s.i. (pounds square inch).

  The new pump produces about 8.0 g.p.m. at 60 p.s.i. Thats a nice difference.

Submersible well pumps that are over ten years old may of become to worn out mechanically to produce the pressure and volume your family requires. A lot of factors attribute to this, abrasive water or acidic water or high iron causing bio-fouling related issues, etc..

No, it is an Upsy Daisy well machine. It is able to extract well pumps down to 500 feet under the proper conditions and operators using the machine.

Many modern submersible well type installations for residential use are required to be properly installed. When using polybutene piping. A Machine like this is used. Not a pick up truck or a bunch of strong men or even Uncle Tony's handy man buddy.

Below left to right.   A well and jet pump located on the inside of a customers home. The room is about 6' wide by 5'tall. He had always had poor pressure and volume and would run out of water and have to re-prime his jet pump. We removed the old jet pump and drop pipe in to his well and installed a 1/2 hp submersible pump into the well and we were also able to drop it down to 100' (not the 55' it was) New well pump with stainless fittings inside the well and we cleaned up his old tank and re-charged the air cushion to allow the new pump to run at 50 pounds. We used a sediment strainer that is easily cleaned by flushing it out with the bottom valve. He was away on a business trip when we did the work. He called me after he arrived back at his home. He said WOW, the pressure in the shower is like staying at the Hilton and there is no noisy jet pump to listen to any more. He has not yet ran out of water.
